Great job on pics and bands, Irina!! In your last pic on your April 5th post you can clearly see the *S on the black band, but can't see the green (as we couldn't when we were there)-- were you able to get the green to ID her as "Clementine"?

Thank you, Chris and Chad! You are right about my picture, it is not clear reading on green. But still something is visible and it can't be V or Y, only X. Also I asked my friend for help IDing this falcon and just sent her the picture with no suggestion on what it might be. She also concluded it was Clementine. And I found a video of 2008 banding day at Macomb county site. Somebody was holding the band *S/*X showing to the camera. You know, much easier to read that way!

Great pictures Irina - Where is Clementine from? You mentioned Macomb County - what state? and what about Tangerine - I love that name btw!

Have you seen the other falcons lately, the falcon from Indy and the falcon from Michigan? Clementine and Tangerine must be relatively new to the area

Happy Easter!
Mary Ann, I belive these are the same birds we keep looking at for the months. With the help of Chris and Chad and looking at my recent photo of Female I am convinced that she is Clementine from 2008 nest Mt.Clemens Macomb county Michigan state. Her tail feathers didn't change much keeping the same weird pattern for the months. So this was she for all time we watching these falcons except one week when for some reason she was replaced by Adira from Indy. And since male is unbanded I think it would be fair to give him some matching name, why not Tangerine? What do you think?

Happy Easter to you Irina!!
OK, thank you for the great information; I understand now, I was thinking that Tangerine was a new banded male - I love the name Tangerine - great choice for a name. I see why you think it is the original female with her distinctive feathers. I would love to know more about Clementine; is she old enough yet to be fertile enough to lay eggs? I can't wait to have Donna come to visit campus to check out this pair especially since they are still here. I can't wait to meet her too!

Have a great day today - nice and warm!

Today I found both falcons near the Stadium. Took the pictures of Tangy in front of the school's logo. Thanks for posing little guy!

Yesterday and today both falcons were present. Today I saw male consuming his meal on the stadium. Than he left to the tower with the female joining him over there.
And also I found the yellow-throated warbler next to the Olentangy river (stadium area).
